Mailing List

Introduction

WA API Mailing List is similar to a contact list, however your contact can unsubscribe from the list. If your contact has chose to unsubscribe from the message, the contact will not receive any upcoming messages despite being in the list.

By blasting your WhatsApp messages via mailing list, you will be able to reduce the risk of your phone number being reported and your contact's decision will be respected.

The image below is the view of mailing list for WA API.

Create Mailing List

Step 1 : Click on the Create button located at the top of the WA API Mailing List sub-module.

Step 2 : Fill in the Mailing List name

Step 3 : Click on the Create button located an the bottom right

Edit Mailing List

Simply click the pencil icon in the Action column to change the mailing list's name or type.

If the list type is changed to normal, the WA API mailing list will be removed. In addition, if the list type is changed to Email Mailing List, the list will be moved to the Email Mailing List sub-module.

The round robin option is only available for admin. Round robin is to allow you to distribute your contact to the users.

Add Contact into Mailing List

Step 1 : Click on the third icon from the left in the Actions Column.

Step 2 : Select the boxes on the left of the names that you want to add into the mailing list.

Step 3 : Click on Add Contacts that is highlighted in the image below.

View Contact(s) in Mailing List

To view who are the contact(s) in the mailing list, click on the eye icon in the Actions Column.

Here, you will be able to view the contact(s) in the mailing list together with their subscription status. If the status is unsubscribed, the respective contact will not receive any message sent out to through this mailing list.

If the mailing list is used to send out a WA API Broadcast, the broadcast status will be reflected here if any contact unsubscribed.

In contrast, if WA API Mailing List is used to send out a WA API Campaign and a contact unsubscribes, the contact will not receive any other messages in the campaign but they can still receive messages in other campaign.

This means that the contact is only unsubscribed in the specific campaign thus they will still be able to receive WA API broadcast and other WA API Campaign.
